How do I get married in New York City?
People getting married in New York City first need to obtain a marriage license. No appointment is necessary (except in Staten Island), and a blood test is not required. Both the prospective bride and groom must appear in person at one of the borough offices of the City Clerk of New York (sited in each Borough Hall), bringing proof of identification (either original or certified copies of passport, driver's license or non-driver ID, military ID, visa or green card) and a money order payable to the "City Clerk of New York" for $35.
